Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are procedures that use various
substances to help remove the outer layers of skin. Depending upon the
strength of the peel one can have a "lunch-time" peel to a deep peel that
requires one-two weeks of recovery. The deeper the peel, the greater the
result. Chemical peels are effective in helping to rejuvenate the skin
and remove the fine wrinkles of aging. They are also effective in helping
to remove abnormal pigmentation or "blotchy" skin.
Laser Peels
Laser peels are similar to chemical peels in that
they remove the outer layers of the skin. The CO2
laser is the most common, but in certain circumstances other lasers may be
used.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is the original mechanical peel that
has been used for years to affect younger looking skin. Today it is
generally used in specific areas such as the fine lines around the mouth.
Its advantages are reduced hypopigmentation and greater control.
Each of these procedures have specific pros and
cons. If interested in improving your skin, you owe it to yourself to
discuss with Dr. Dorner all the options. |

Implants
There are numerous implants available to help modify and sculpt the human
form. Breast implants are the most common (see breast surgery).
There are others available that can be used to alter the face (such as chin and
cheek implants), legs (calf implants), chest (pectoral), buttocks, or any other
surface irregularity. In some instances an implant may not be necessary.
The desired correction may be obtainable through manipulation of the bony
skeleton or through the use of fat grafting. If you have an interest in
any of these procedures, please call.
